2005-2019 Women Empowerment
Sri Ramakrishna Seva Nilayam has started the Micro Financing for Self Help Groups (SHGs) in 2005 because the year 2005 is celebrated as the International Year for Micro Credit.
More than 300 SHGs have benefited from this scheme.
The following organizations have helped Sri Ramakrishna Seva Nilayam by lending money for this cause.
- Indian Overseas Bank
- Rashtriya Mahila Kosh (RMK)
- National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD)
Since the start of this programme, the repayment rate, for the loans the organization has provided, is 100%, thanks to the wonderful training that the organization staff have received regarding microfinance and micro credit. The organization also encouraged and succeeded in influencing SHGs to take Micro Insurance to help themselves and their families.
Some of the economic activities undertaken by our SHGs through our Micro Finance: Tailoring, Canteen, Agriculture, Herbal Trading, Grocery Shop, Flower Merchant, Firewood Shop, Milch Cow, STD Booth, Herbal Powder, Laundry, Vessels Hiring, Jute Products, Readymade Garments, Nursery, and Pickle Making.
So far, around 7000 members have benefitted through our Micro Finance Project to a tune of 10 crores.
