2007-2008 Medical Service Govt. Funded
The purpose of the Ambulance Service is to reduce maternal and neo-natal mortality.
The ambulance and honorarium for the staff (2 nurses and 2 drivers) are provided by the Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project sponsored by the World Bank. A nominal charge of Rs. 5 per Kilometer is collected from the users of the service to maintain the vehicle.
The service runs 24 hours a day. On an average, 10 beneficiaries per month use the service and the number is expected to increase.
