Sri Ramakrishna Seva Nilayam (SRSN) was formed on February 5, 1992 with the mission of providing the much-needed shelter, health care, empowerment, and standard education to the section of the Society that is deprived of these basic needs.
Sri Ramakrishna Seva Nilayam is registered under the Societies Registration Act and the Registration Number is 9/92. The Society has been granted Income Tax exemption under Section 80-G for donations and the Exemption Certificate number is 102/44/CIT-II/1994-95.
The organization is located in Tenkasi, a town and a municipality in Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tenkasi is located in the foothills of the Western Ghats near the Courtallam waterfalls; 600 kilometres southwest of Chennai; 150 kilometres southwest of Madurai; 50 kilometres northwest of Tirunelveli; and, 150 kilometres northeast of Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala).
Some of the projects that the organization engages in areĀ Free Family Counselling Centre, De-Addiction Centre, Free Medical Centre, Free Diagnostic Centre, Children's Bhojan Scheme, Senior Citizens' Bhojan Scheme, Monthly Magazine, and Spiritual Service.
SRSN was founded by Dr. M. Arivazhagan and Dr. B. Syamala. The founders of the organization have dedicated their life to the public service.
Dr. M. Arivazhagan has been recognized for his dedication to public service by many organizations. From the year 2004 to the year 2011 he was appointed as the Chairman of Child Welfare Committee (Conferred Magistrate) for the districts of Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari by the Department of Social Defence, Government of Tamil Nadu.
